So, it turns out that our meticulously fine-tuned plan of “driving
after bedtime so the babies sleep all the way” was not the best plan we
had ever formulated. The thing about babies is that when one
wakes up crying, it wakes the other up, and then that baby cries.
Then you have two crying (and soon, screaming, heaving, sobbing) babies
in a dark and very cramped van. Turns out it’s easier to pacify
babies either a) not in a van, or b) not in the dark. Tomorrow we
drive by daylight.

Oh dear… sorry your plan didn’t work. That is what works well for us… but then we only have one child. I can see how one waking the other up would be a trial. Hope the daylight goes better.

When Mike drives at night, I never wake up…

Is that because he gives you your pacifier and your happy? Kaysen usually slept part of the way on our trips to and from Tulsa, but man that lasy 45 minutes, sucked, she was not a happy girl who wanted out of her car seat. So yes I feel your pain.

Ugh. I’m not sure I want to think of it right now, lol. Someday, I hope, we will laugh about this trip.

Maybe someday it will be legal to sedate our children…
