So, I’m going to try this doing one productive thing a day and
see how it works.  :)  Thanks Eliza.  Today, I guess it
was making chilli.  And I’m babysitting.  TWO productive
things.  Does that mean I’m off the hook for tomorrow?  Oooh,
and does posting on Xanga count?

Maya has taken to chewing on her clothes– i.e walking around with
the neck of her shirt in her mouth.  It’s a little bit endearing,
and kind of strange.  I think she’s teething, again.  About
time.  She’s only got four teeth.

Right now, she’s examining the vaccum cleaner.  She turned it
on yesterday and scared herself to death.  It was sad and kind of
funny.  Well.

I think Tim and I are going to go to Academy this weekend and buy me
a baseball glove.  He’s about to die from wanting to play
catch.  And I like catch okay.  But I’m not so good at the
catching part.  Oh well.

Big loves to all of you in Xanga-land.

Well.  I was all set to make a list of things that make me happy, and the first thing was going to be:

I haven’t seen a roach in my house for 13 days.  But no.
Before I could post, I went over in the corner to keep Maya from
pulling the standing lamp down on herself, and there on the floor, with
it’s nasty little underside up was a medium smallish nasty mc nasty
cockroach.  Shudder.

Other things I might have been happy about: getting to take a
nap.  But no.  A mere four minutes after I lay down to sleep,
I hear this weird crashing noise, and then Tim say “Maya, no…” (a
little too late).  My beloved daughter had just busted a can of
generic chery coke open ALL over our apartment.  So, we had to de
sticky everything, including Maya and Tim.  And mop and
such.  So.

Well.  Truth be told, cockroach, and sticky house
notwithstanding, I am having a lovely day.  I love my
family.  I am a happy girl.  I hope all is well for y’all in
Xanga-land.

Love.

So.  Turns out we’re not moving.  We went to check out the
3 br apartment yesterday…someone had just moved out.  It was
torn up…holes punched in the walls, every door was broken…and then
we checked out St. Jean on apartmentratings.com and it turns out that
it’s a very sketchy place to live, even though it’s in a decent part of
town.  Sketchy like Papa John’s won’t deliver there after
dark.  So, yeah.  We’re staying here.

I thought that this thing was kind of cute and so…

Ah ha!  As of 11:00 am, Tim and I are officially reconnected to
the world of Xanga–from home!  I am oh so very excited.  In
other exciting news–we are going to look at a new apartment
today.  A newer apartment, which has 1300 square feet (we now live
in 690), which costs THE SAME amount of monthly rent.  Woo
ha!  We will now have a place for y’all to sleep when you come
visit.  In celebration of my return to Xanga, I shall share these
pictures.
