I hate Baton Rouge.

I hate Baton Rouge.
Two things:
The eggs were hard boiled. Maya loves her some hard boiled eggs. Easy for Mama, happy baby…good stuff.
Diapers? I toss them in the diaper pail–a garbage can with a
washable waterproof liner, and when it’s full I put them in the
washer. (Poos go in the toilet) I do one cold rinse
(usually with baking soda) and then a Hot/Cold regular cycle. I
use about 1/3 to 1/4 the reccommended amount of detergent because if
you use more than that you get yucky buildup that makes the diapers
stink. No fabric softener because it’s a wax, and it makes the diapers
repel moisture. Not cool. Sometimes I do an extra rinse,
and sometimes I add vinegar (softener) or Tea Tree Oil (disinfectant)
to the last rinse. Then I dry most of them in the dryer. I
wish I could hang them out on a clothesline, but we don’t have
one. Sad face.
Aloha! Well. It was Saturday here. We went to the Pro
Shop, the Library and Wal-Mart. I hate going to Wal-Mart. I
think I’m going to quit. They never have what I want, and
the standard rudness coefficient of the general public is amplified
like seventeenhundred times there. Seriously. It was
depressing.
But! This afternoon I got my “Stampin Up” things to make invites for
Maya’s second birthday party. I am not so much crafty, but with
the help of my farm themed rubber stamps and supplies, I am hoping I
can make cute invitations just the same. I am so excited for her
birthday!
This week, she discovered veggie tales. Unfortunately, she now
has a *third* thing she refers to only as “P.” Peas, pee, and now
Josh and the Big Wall. This generality makes for some interesting
conversations.
Also this week: she stuck a green crayon in the dryer. A load of
towels plus four t-shirts came out with green splotches. Hooray
for the internet, where I discovered an easy and effective way of
removing the stains.
Ahh, what a life.
Nothing like doing housework and dancing with an almost-two-year-old to
some cranked up Michael Buble. Only downside: My cd is missing
the first track…weird.
